How validation works for parkers

Edited

When a parking lot has validation options set up, a parker who uses the web booking flow can validate by scanning the QR code for a validation option.

When someone uses the web booking flow to make a reservation, they'll see a "Validation available" notice at the top of their screen. They can tap this to see details for validation options at the lot.

Once they’ve booked a reservation, they’ll see a “Scan QR code to validate” button. They'll use that to scan the QR code for the validation. For example, if the validation is for customers at a coffee shop, they'll ask the shop for the QR code, the shop will provide it, and the parker will scan it.

A parker must scan the QR code for a validation for it to apply to their reservation. Once they scan the QR code, we’ll automatically issue a refund to them based on the validation details.

Each parker can validate any number of reservations.

A reservation cannot be validated more than once.

A reservation can be validated during the timeframe of the reservation or within 24 hours of the end time of it.

A reservation cannot be validated if it was free.
